Jubilee Congregations

Are you part of a faith community?
Now your group can become a Jubilee Congregation.

Q. Who’s it for?
A. Congregations of all sizes and religious traditions with a desire to do more for the world’s poor can become Jubilee Congregations.

Q. What’s the point?
A. Faith communities will be provided with practical ways to become more active in the fight to save lives and restore hope for the millions of people affected by the debt crisis.

Q. How does it work?
A. Jubilee Congregations agree to:
- Affirm the aims of the Jubilee Debt Campaign in their work to free poor people and countries from the burden of unjust and unpayable debt
- Pray for justice for the world’s poorest communities
- Provide a contact person to facilitate education and action on debt
- Make an appropriate annual donation for the work of the Jubilee Debt Campaign
- Take at least one action a year on debt as a congregation.

In return, the Jubilee Debt Campaign will send:
- A Jubilee Congregation Action Pack (see below)
- Regular news updates via email and/or post (four – six times a year)
- Information about new and updated worship materials on the Jubilee Debt Campaign website, appropriate to each faith community.

The Jubilee Congregation Action Pack will include:
- A copy of the Jubilee Vision statement, detailing our aims and ideals
- A Jubilee Congregations certificate
- Details of an action on debt for use by congregations
- Ideas for further individual and congregational involvement in JDC.
