Ideas and resources for local activities
Organising an event in your local area during the Drop the Debt Fast is a great way to raise awareness about what the debt campaign has achieved in the last ten years, and what is still to be done.
You could:
- send a press release to your local media telling them that you're taking part in the Fast and any events you're organising during it. You can download a template press release to adapt from the right hand column of this page or click here.
- print off a poster of the country you're fasting for and get a photo taken of you taking part in the Fast. You can print off a poster via our country profile pages, or contact us for one if you don't have a colour printer. Plus make sure you send us a copy.
- invite a speaker to talk about debt, or include a debt speaker in a more general world poverty event. To request a speaker, email or call 020 7324 4722.
- show a film about debt. See our range of videos and DVDs to buy or borrow.
- put on a game of Debt or No Debt?, our interactive game show revealing the severity of the continuing debt crisis.
- use our Debt and Women or Debt and Climate Change presentations to tell your group, school, or congregation about how debt affects real lives.
