OCTOBER

  • 3 - Harvest Fast. CAFOD’s Harvest Fast Day focuses on standing in solidarity, speaking out for justice and praying alongside families in need in the developing world. More info
  • 4 - Fairtrade Campaign Day, Sheffield. Get the latest Fairtrade news first hand and pick up new skills to promote Fairtrade in your community. 10am-4.15pm, Sheffield Hallam University. More info
  • 4 - Keep the Promise rally, London. End Child Poverty coalition rally calling on the government to keep its promise to half child poverty in the UK by 2010. From 11.30am, Millbank. More info 
  • 7 - World Day for Decent Work. To mark World Day for Decent Work in the UK, and in support of the Decent Work, Decent Life Campaign, the TUC is organising a day of activities at Congress House, focusing on rights at work and ending inequality in the workplace. More info
  • 9 - World Sight Day

  • 15 - Bloggers Against Poverty. Thousands of bloggers across the world will blog about poverty on this day. Find out more and register your blog 
  • 15 - Christian Aid Climate Change action, London. Stunt in central London calling for a strong Climate Bill. More info
  • 16 - World Food Day
  • 16 - 'Debt, the Food Crisis and Climate Change' - Speaker: Nick Dearden, Director of Jubilee Debt Campaign. 7.30pm, Friends Meeting House, Queen Parade, Harrogate. Light refreshments from 7.15pm + displays. Followed by Harrogate and Knaresborough JDC AGM.

  • 17 - The End of Poverty? film premiere and panel discussion - Full details

  • 17-19 - GCAP Stand Up and Take Action Mobilisation. Mass action in which millions worldwide take a stand against poverty. Last year, 43.7 million people in 127 countries took a stand. This year, don't just stand, take action as well. Local events are planned in most UK cities. More info  
  • 19 - Micah Sunday. UK churches will be joining with thousands of churches worldwide to stand together in prayer that the firm commitments made by world leaders on the MDGs won’t become broken promises. More info

NOVEMBER
