Debt campaigners join World Social Forum
25 January 2007
Debt campaigners were among tens of thousands of people attending the World Social Forum in Nairobi this week, for the biggest annual gathering of campaigns, social movements, activists and experts who are working for social and economic justice.
Jubilee Debt Campaign was present at the Forum, the first to be held in Africa: check out reports direct from the Forum on our

The World Social Forum convenes under the banner 'Another World is Possible', and brings together those struggling for justice all around the world for five days of discussion, planning and sharing information. Debt and economic justice was a major theme of the forum, along with issues such as land, labour, women's rights, trade, conflict, HIV/AIDS and migration.
Activities at the World Social Forum are not programmed by any central committee or by the Secretariat, but are organised by participating campaigns and organisations: Jubilee Debt Campaign has been planning events with others in the debt movement over some months. Around 1,200 separate events took place
