The G8's New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition is using public money to help multinational food companies gain greater control over African agriculture. The UK has pledged £395 million of aid money to the Alliance.
We are supporting African civil society groups who have called for alternative ways of fighting hunger which promote food 'sovereignty' - the right for people to have control of their food system, not simply access to food.

For a decade Argentina has been battling to stop vulture funds profiteering from its 2001 debt crisis. On 27 February a New York court heard an appeal against a $1.3 billion judgement for vulture fund NML Capital. A verdict is expected in the coming weeks.
